Re: New forum member - Model 14's

Hello all. New to the forum, and new to Rem Model 14's. In fact, new to Remington altogether. Have acquired a 44-40 Dominion of Canada issue, serial # 31705. From that number, am I correct in believing that it's from 1914 ? I've also got my eye on a Model 14, 30Rem cartridge. Have not yet been advi...

Re: new member from Illinois

His name is Flint but is not a hunting dog. He is a city beagle. I live in will county but I still hunt on my family farm in Morgan county. I grew up in Will, my mother is still there, I live in DuPage and my shooting range (the first Dinosaur range east of the Mississippi) is in Grundy. Texas star...

Re: Hello from South West Arkansas

Thanks for the information on the Model 11 Serial Number! Are there records that show or trace its origin or path in life? Other then finding date (maybe I think) in the factory record book, I don't know. I don't like this factory record book but this was the best copy I could get https://www.remin...

Re: Hello from South West Arkansas

I ran across a model 11 today and was wondering about its age. Serial number 111143. I can't resist resurrecting these ol' gals. Oh the stories they could tell if they could talk. Do I need to re-post to inquire about her age elsewhere? Thanks for adding me, Nick The model 11 serial list (12 gauge)...

Re: Alf Reickhoff / Malvern Remington No 4 .22 Need to date

I'm not sure that is a high serial? They started in 1890 and by end of 1905 they had made 163884. Simple math (best you can guess) puts that in 1894 or 1895 considering a slow / later start. But it is a high number for a solid frame. Not a high number for a Model 4. Not disagreeing, I have only the...
