Re: 1st Remington Autoloading Shotgun Ad in Sporting Life
The earliest I picked up on the Browning Automatic was in the Western Field publication in mid to late 1903.

Re: 1st Remington Autoloading Shotgun Ad in Sporting Life
Drew,
Was Chris ever able to date that photo?
I found the ad that I was looking for in a Sante Fe Employee's Magazine.
Not sure how to properly give publishing credit if it's just Name of Publication in Italics and denote issue date than I will try to post.

Re: manufacture date of model 11
I do not understand why you wouldn't have access. This information is available to the public and I can access it without logging in. You select the "Manufacturing Dates" tab and it will present all the resources available to the Society. It is, however, not obvious that you have to click ...

Re: 1894 BE Restoration
Thanks CB! He also does excellent work on Foxes seems like I remember seeing an example or two over time. I have a stock repair project or two, nothing involving a full restoration. My experience is that a gun imported through Canada has to be "Import Stamped" which would probably be a dea...

Re: 1894 BE Restoration
Speaking of documenting photos, have you noticed Morphy trying to discourage that? Lol
CB do you mind me asking who you used as a stocker?
I was impressed with the job he did, of course as picky as I am that says a lot!
Thanks, Will

Re: Remington grades
The A grade referred to a non-ejector model or a gun with only shell extractors.
Whereas the AE grade was a gun with spent shell ejectors.

Re: Remington Premier 3200 One of Fifty??
OlderRemFan, I do not have any information other that what I have seen printed and it has been some time and I don't have the references in front of me. The Premier Grade 3200 was a "One of Five Hundred" of that I thought it was 116 were sent for the "Overseas Market" with Europe...

Ordnance Barrels on Model 10's are as scarce as Damascus on a '97.
Even less common on a Remington Autoloader.

Re: FE Trap restoration
Wonderful gun Dave!
Mike I completely forgot about the spur.
That makes things a little more interesting for sure.
Not sure how I would approach but I bet it would be expensive since most of my cranky nuances are!
Let us know what you decide.

Re: FE Trap restoration
Mike,
I have used original Noshoc's with good success for look and pliability.
The new Silver's to my eye look too, "Top Heavy", too much pad to thickness of baseplate.
The older Griffen & Howe solid pads were a little better but are hard to find.

Re: manufacture date of model 11
Bearkat, Model 11's have 3 different stock types. The Pre 180,000 SN guns are Type 1's the have different inletting as the tangs were shorter and the radius more open. You will not find finished stocks from the stock maker/reproducers only semi-inletted and un-finished. Your best bet is to keep an e...
