Your XP did originally come with iron sights. They were the same sights you would find on a Rem. 600. Most times when someone puts on a scope the iron sights are removed. I'm not sure why as my XP has a scope and the iron sights are still on it. It may be due to whatever mounts are used. It's concei...

rgr4hire,
If you reread my post you will see that I said if the rifle was a CARBINE there is a 50% premium (only in 222 mag and 280 though). A rifle with a 24" barrel is the same value as any other cal.

Usually if the blue book doesn't add a premium (10%, 15% or whatever), for the particular caliber, which it doesn't, then the gun in question isn't that rare. You might contact Remington. There is an "ask a question" page on their site. http://remington.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/remington.cfg/p...

Acording to the Blue Book the only 700 that was chambered for 222 mag was the early 700 ADL, no BDL's. If it's the carbine the book says to add 50% to the value. As to when it was made, it looks like pre '91.

The description on the Remington site about the XR-100 says: "Thought a competition-grade target rifle was out of your reach? Think again. The Model XR-100 Rangemaster single shot target rifle, based on the legendary Remington XP-100™ pistol action, delivers match-grade accuracy at half the cos...

IF you’re lucky you can get 2" groups with the new Remingtons. All 3 of my 700s(22-250,7mm mag and 6mm Rem) are the older rounded checkering ones from the 60's. They all shoot below 1 min. of angle if the shooter does his part. But the new ones just don't do that. I'm sure the crappie triggers ...

Long ago I purchased a used Rem. 700 varminter in 22-250. The guy I bought it from sold it to me at a VERY low price because he said it couldn't shoot a group smaller than 3"s at 50 yards. At the price I got it for I figured I could replace the barrel and still have a 700 with very little money...

35 Whelen 700 Remington made in: 1988 – 2003, 2005; 1988 Classic; 2004 - now Custom Shop only. It may be a little different but I don't think it's different enough to bring a premium if you were to sell it. Unless it's a Classic model or one from the custom shop. The whelan is the balistic equivilan...

Big Fella, I have a model 29 that is my favorite shotgun. I have 2 barrel-forend assemblies for it. One with a full choke and one with a modified choke. I have been using the modified for waterfowl hunting since the steel requirement came into effect with no ill effects on the barrel. I NEVER use an...

600 660

Hi RMWRIGHT1, I've always been a fan of the Rem 600's. I was always under the impression that none of the 660's had a vent rib. But then one day at a local gun show a few years ago I saw a 660 with a rib and the guy that had it said it was original to that gun. It's the only 660 I've ever seen with ...
