Re: Remington Model 12
Hello, I have a model 12 .22 that I'm having trouble identifying. The serial number chart provided shows that it was produced in the middle of 1910. Does anyone know what model it would be and how to establish a value? Thanks Round barrel or octagon barrel? Straight grip or pistol grip on the butts...

Re: 1968 wingmaster NIB
I bought my first 870 in 1968. It was manufactured in January 1968. Cost $80.00 new with a 30" plain barrel. A year or two later I had a Polychoke vent rib added to the barrel. Acquired a TB trap stock to use for when I shot trap. I've put many thousands of rounds through that gun. Also, over t...

Re: Remington model 12 manufacture dates
I'm trying to figure mine out as well! The serial number on the bottom is 354053. Also on the right side of the firearm(breach side) right tight next to the foregrip appears an "o" and on the left side of the firearm right tight to the receiver is a p over a c. Not sure of significance of...

Re: Replacement Model 721 Barrel or counter bore
You didn't comment on what type of accuracy you have with the existing condition of the barrel. If it's "reasonable", leave it alone. If not, have a competent gunsmith remove the front sight, cut and re-crown the barrel. Den, Not too great; it was about 3" groups at 100 yd. at 300 yd...

Re: Stamp
I recently acquired model 03-A3. Trying to find out the history. Also have one that was drilled for a scope but looks like a model 1903. All US Remington. Appreciate any help on this. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=Production+and+Serial+Numbers+Table+M1903+%E2%80%9CModified%E2%80%9D+and+M1903A3&t=ff...

Re: Older Remington 700
Wulfman what you say about the barrel being turned is 100% correct and I never would have thought of that. The history: a friend of mine in Texas acquired this rifle in the early 70's when he was getting his PhD in Geology in Laramie. He said that he bought it from a local gunsmith but he is not a ...

Re: Older Remington 700
I have an early Remington 700 ADL and I am trying to figure out the date of manufacture. The serial # is 650XX, it has the REP proof and a heart stamp, and the word Remington on the bottom of the barrel going into the forearm . There are no pre-fix letters or other marks. Since it does not have the...

Re: remington 700 .222mag
Or, do you just want to collect something that's pretty rare? Den... That's pretty much it, I collect odd things, I'm attracted to the odd calibers and older rifles (not that it's an old rifle) Just picked you a 721 in 300 H&H for those reasons. For that .222 I was looking at I was on the fence...

Re: remington 700 .222mag
You need to ask yourself "WHY do I want to own one of those?" They're strictly a "roll your own" proposition. (unless you stumble into some loaded rounds) Do you already have the brass to load? (it's pretty expensive IF it's available) Do you already have the dies and other equip...

Re: Model 10a
Have a model 10a serial number U 109544. The barrel is 20” exactly and is bored for a front sight. It came with a bayonet holder and is stamped US and bomb stamped. The short barrel is not sloppy. Looks factory cut. The serial number falls previous of when the military lots were supposed to be issu...
