Re: Left Hand Model 700 vs. Model 700LH
Hello, all, first post here. I have a left handed Model 700 in .30/06, OY barrel code (July '74, so early for a left handed 700). However, the receiver is marked "Remington" over "Model 700" . I think this may just be an error, in that the incorrect die was used to mark this rec...

Re: Remington 572 know alls
Ok i have purchased a few older (60s and 70s) rifles. Based on barrel stamps. But the question I have is. Two of them have a barrel screw on the upper left of the reserver and two of them do not have said screw! Can anyone tell me what the difference is? Older? Newer? Any help would be great! Sent ...

Re: Remington .243 Mohawk-600 1957
I will be including pictures of the rifle. It was given to me by my father along with other rifles. We went on many many hunting trips, always he would say "Wait let me show you one more time", he'd fill both tags with monster bucks. I will include one picture of a record buck also. He pa...

Re: Engraved Sportsman 48 20 ga
You didn't include much of the images of the wood. If the wood is essentially "standard" grade (which it appears to be in that one partial picture of the fore end) and your father was in the military around the time of the Japanese occupation after WWII, it may have been a shotgun he bough...

Re: Remington Model 700
I'll narrow it down a little further for ya....... The "C" prefix for the serial number means it was made after about 1985. They started putting alpha prefixes to the serial numbers in about 1975 and incremented them at about 5 year intervals. https://www.remingtonsociety.org/manufacture-d...

Re: remington 721 manufactoring date
New here, but own several Rem. rifles, and do have a 721 30-06 I'm curious about. The serial # 177151, by comparison to what I've read here, appears to be old. I do not have the G2 to figure out how old, and would like any feedback anyone may have. Thanks What do you mean by "G2"? This li...

Re: dating a 700 bdl
Thanks Den I think I was confused by the number 64. What you say now makes sense. Thanks again I also meant to add one other thing that helps dating that gun. The first digit "6" (six million) was added in 1969 or 1970. Prior to that, they had six-digit serial numbers. In about 1975, they...
