Re: Help with caliber confirmation #4 rolling block
Opps - I made an error -- Dixie sells conversion brass for 38R -- not 32R.

Re: Help with caliber confirmation #4 rolling block
Dixie Gun Works sells 32R conversion cases so hand loads can be produced. A 22 blank is used for the primer. Slow to load since the 22 has to be lined up with the firing pin for the whole thing to work but works well in my Flobert. Another option I've considered is drilling a new path for the firing...

Not to be a butthead but is there a "rule" for LOP for a SxS with double triggers?

Re: Surge in Prices?
Just applied for our FOID card renewals - may take forever but the application should be good for the duration. Took 4 months for my CCL but that was just before Corona. Shelves are bare for most reloading supplies. Good that I stocked up before the troubles and I was able to find a few thousand W20...

Re: wanted .22 model 12cs stock
There are several stock makers that can help you with a semi-inletted to a fully finished stock. Depends on what you want to spent, quality of wood, checkering etc.

Re: Antique or not?: Remington Rolling Block Baby Carbine with 20" barrel
Good question. As far as I know the S/N would be used to determine pre 1899 status. This of course is possible only if a reliable S/N data base is available. If no data base is known the only other way would be to have the original sales documentation at hand which in most cases would be very unlike...

Re: Help identifying shot gun
First - can it be repaired? I've repaired many a stock with little or no signs of repair. eBay usually has stocks available -- you'll just have to wait until the right one comes along. You may need to buy a matching forehand as well if matching is important.

Re: Rolling Block #4 Take Down
Dixie sells brass in 32R which uses 22 blanks for the primer. Bit of a hassle to load but works ok in a single shot rifle. When loading the rounds the 22 must line up with the hammer/firing pin. That's what I use in my Flobert. I've thought of drilling the breechblock to move the firing pin location...

I was a bit off base in my guess. Turns out that it's a Duke Pecan Cracker. Go figure!

What is it?
This might a bit off topic but I bought this item along with a lot of reloading equipment/supplies about 2 months ago. My best guess is some sort of roll crimp
tool for paper and/or brass hulls. Could be multi gauge as the adjustable screw can be reversed.- Wed Sep 23, 2020 10:28 am

Re: Nickel
Short answer is no. I'm not aware of any reference to nickel plating in the literature. However, Remington would build to customers special order so it's possible but very unlikely. You may be able to tell if it's original by checking whether or not the metal has been refinished.

Re: Question on Remington 58
We do not usually provide value as so many variables come into play and it's usual to have the weapon in hand when evaluating. However the chief factors are: First - condition, condition, condition!!! Second - grade - ranging from plain field grade to the same model with extreme engraving, checkerin...

Re: Model 1874?
There were four variations between 1882 and 1889 - 1882, 1883, 1885 & 1887. These variations involve minor changes and are usually are identified by hammer design. In 1910 Remington stopped production of the 1889 as well as the hammerless DBL models (1894 & 1900). To identify the gun you nee...
