Re: Rem 700 BDL 22" HB .308 SA
Why do you have to make it "Tactical" for bench shooting. Leave it alone. Wood looks nicer then any black stock you can put on it. Plus save you some money you can put toward a nicer scope or rifle rest.

Re: Remington Kleanbore Hi-Speed
Your correct on your date range. With the half white end label it would be toward the earliest part. Nice box. After the picture would you be interested in selling? I have a complete collection of this style Kleanbore boxes, but I have not yet completed a complete caliber variation of them. Billy Sm...

Re: Rem M12A mix up
Yes, I have 2 as barrel replaced by authorized gunsmith. 3 factory replaced. Who knows! Repaired is repaired.

Re: Rem M12A mix up
Isn't a barrel replacement a number 3? Break the action down and see if the serial number on the inside of the action matches the one on the outside.

Re: Rem M12A mix up
Yes it sounds like you have a model 12. The date code before the number 2 is when it was repaired. The butt stock is most likely been replaced. If you remove the butt plate there should be a serial number.

Re: Rem M12A mix up
You say crescent steel buttplate? Is it flat or curved? Does the buttplate wrap around the top of the stock. Is the buttplate textured or smooth? What's your serial number.? Is that the only date code on your barrel? It's quite common for parts to be switched around.

Re: M/720s
I think with having all three 720's I wouldn't be modifying anything.

Re: M/720s
Well like I said I was just passing on hearsay. I personally never checked it out for facts. I collected the 25 Roberts and 257 Remington Robert ammo for quite some time now in hopes of buying a model 30 with the 25 Roberts stamping. Still looking, but admit have not looked real hard. The 720 is a n...

I have a collection of 25 Roberts, 257 Remington Roberts, and 257 Roberts ammo. I never really checked them, but some ammo people say the case shoulder is slightly different from the Remington Roberts and the 257 Roberts??????? I don't know what you shot???????

With the way you described in your first post, and sight unseen I would say $350-$400.

Re: Model 600 Mohawk
The V was a stamp Remington put on the trigger just to verify the recall was performed. It didn't matter what year. Some of them just have a punch mark or dot. The 308 is the most common with 33028 made, but you did better getting a 600 carbine then a Mohawk. There a little more collectible. The 600...

Re: Model 600 oil finish
It all depends on what you mean by oil finish. My idea of oil finish would be a dry looking stained stock with really no evidence of a clear coat. If that matches your definition then no. There stocks definitely had evidence of a top coat. Maybe not the thick gloss of some manufacturers, but defiant...

There was also a Canadian company that made one as well. Can't quite remember the name, and I am currently out of state for work. Maybe Watkins??????

The 600 magnums came from the factory with sling and swivels. The standard calibers did not.

Re: remington 760 F
The blue book is only a best guess, but I wouldn't pay $2000.00 more then what it says for a modern gun like the 760. If I were looking for an F grade for an investment stand point I would chase down a more vintage F grade like a Remington model 8, 12, or a 14. IMHO it would be a better investment.
