I have a 512 with what looks like “A S S L” on left in front of receiver. Can someone tell me the year of manufacture?
A SS - March 1947

Re: Another ID

Gosh I hate to open my mouth just so someone can tell me I'm wrong. (but that's ok)
But that's not a #7, to me it looks like someone did a real good job on maybe a NY Military.
It's missing a screw, the breach and hammer are not right.

Re: Remington Smoot Cleaning Rod/Accessories

I can check but I wouldn't hold my breath, I had 2 reloading kits in the boxes.
I'm thinking they might not have been different then the DD's.

Re: New for me!

Superglue bad.

There's a paste, got it at the paint store it will remove all water stains (and color) from a stock without damaging the wood if your going to refinish it. If someone here doesn't remember it's name I'll go find it, it's in the garage somewhere...

Re: Model 95(?) Information

The BLACKPOWDERX is the sequence 12 letters and 12 months wasn't quite clear.
It's explained the manufacturing date link off the home page.

Re: Early Serial Number New Model Army??

Please take out the phone and snap a photo, roll down (past this box) to attachments and add files ;)

A photo is the place to start.

Re: Model 95(?) Information

Dan probably has the serial list handy, I should post that.
Anyhow the date code is stamped under the barrel on lug.

Re: Remington 141

Is your rifle a 141 with a 14 stock or a Model 14 with a 141 fore end? It does look like a reblue but still a nice looking piece. Jim Peterson Charlotte, NC Date Code would answer that. There's two good articles on the 14 on the site (first links to second) https://www.remingtonsociety.org/serials-...

Re: Model 12a 22” S, L, LR Pump 22

That would make it 1920 and I think the model is on the side but still have to wait for a year for a date code. I will stop guessing and wait for someone who knows.

When she stops telling you stop bringing home shotguns and starts telling you stop bring home safes, then your in trouble.

Re: Model 12a 22” S, L, LR Pump 22

Just received this rifle that was my Grandmother’s “rabbit and raider” gun 😳. VERY difficult to see date code on the left side/bottom of the barrel very near the receiver appears to be a U and an E. It also has another character...can’t tell what it is, but maybe an inspection mark? The Model numbe...

I'd take it out of the stock, I suspect you will find the manufactured date code vs the date of repair.

Re: 141 carbine

Just a FYI an employee gun is marked with a 5 after the date code, like a 3 meaning a repair.
Sure has screaming condition.

Found a Remington 141 carbine at a local gun show. No one there seemed to realize what it was.
What Caliber?
