Re: M700 Lawsuits?

I know it is an old thread, but after 44 years I actually had a REAL problem with my 700 in 7mm Express. Now that I am older I don't burn up the ammo like I used to so most of my large caliber rifles sit in the cabinet for 10 months out of the year. I was set on my rounds after my handload session ...

Re: model 700 7mm exp

I ordered one of these 7mm Express BDL 700's in 1980 or I should say my Dad ordered it and I paid for it with money I earned bailing hay at $1/hr. I ... the magazines that said '&mm Express. It bridges the gap between the 30-06 and the 7mm mag. The only thing about the gun that disappointed me was ...

Re: Remington Rolling Block in 7mm

Thanks for your response Mr. Farley! Very interesting information on the history of this RB in 7mm.
On a side note, have you ever striped the RB down for a thorough cleaning? Any issues I should be aware of in taking this old RB apart and putting back together? Or, should I just leave as is?
Thanks

Re: Remington Rolling Block in 7mm

Hi. I have two of these RB's in 7mm, both 1901, and neither has a serial #. I don't think they were serialized but I really haven't spent much time researching it. From what I did find it seems Remington screwed up making these and had bookoo unsold to the military market and they were sold as forager ...

My Remingtons are an old rolling block in 7mm passed down through the family.
A 798 Remington, 783 , 770 that I could not pass up it was very cheap and new. And a Marlin 336 that I bought ...

them).

The breach looks like the caliber might be larger than normal. These
were made in early smokeless small calibers (like 7mm Mauser) and
yours looks like it is larger than that. Do you know what caliber it is?
Also, it looks like it takes a rimmed cartridge. Is it by ...

Re: 7mm rolling block identify

I know this is an old topic, but on an off chance THBailey do you have pictures of the extractor from the RB you have?
I have a Swede 89 model with identical marks. It has barrel hammer and breach block but the extractor is gone and I need images to be able to make a replacement one.
That is ...

Model 700 weird serial.number

Just recently purchased a 7mm in a 700. There is no letters preceding the serial number. This is an ADL with a classic stock. The serial number is 6263917. Does anyone know how to figure out what year this gun was made. Secondly I'd like to convert it into a clip gun. I have a couple refinished custom ...

Locating Date for Model 700

Hi All!

I stumbled upon this Model 700 in 7mm Rem Mag for $300 at a local Cabela's Gun Library. It's a little beat up, but seems to be in fairly good working order, and it was a good enough deal I couldn't pass it up.

Out of pure curiosity, I'm trying to hunt down information on how to date the ...

There is no serial number unless it is on the inside of the receiver or under the stock somewhere?

Remington Rolling Block in 7mm

I recently acquired a Remington Rolling Block in a 7mm and am trying to find out any information out there on this model of rifle.
I do not plan in firing this rifle so I don't need any info on modern day 7mm cartridge and if it will fire. Photos attached of only markings on rifle.
Thank you

Re: Rookie question...

Hi There,

What you have is a Remington #5 rolling block model 1902
(some call it the model 1901) and most were made in 7mm
Mauser (back then, it was called 7mm Spanish Mauser).
Many of the South and Central American countries purchased
them. Even Brittan purchased some during WW I.

The ...
