I thought there would be more activity here than there is. I found some info from a local knowledgeable gunsmith, but was hoping to get some input from the forum.

Some 12 GA 1100s have a plastic buffer in the rear of the bolt, some don't. My 1970's? 2-3/4" gun has a buffer. It's not in hand at the moment so I can't look up the date of manuf.
Can I use a "no-buffer" type bolt in this 1100? Can bolts simply be swapped from one gun to another?
