So we are looking at a 1965.
I'm inclined to agree.
Would have been nice to be a first year model though

Re: Dating a Nylon 66
I think you're right.
Initially I thought it was an F but I think it could be an incomplete P

Re: Dating a Nylon 66
Ok,
Here's a couple more pictures
Is that the date code at the top?
I always thought they were on the left side of the barrel

Dating a Nylon 66
Hi all ,
Recently picked up an early decent condition Nylon 66 MB.
Was just curious on dating the rifle.
It doesn't have the common barrel date code ie: 2 letters but does have an actual date-
1959.
There is an RD preceding this but that would put the date at 1957.
2 years before production.

Re: 760 Gamemaster date quandary
Is there any way to determine whether the rifle has been remarried?

Re: 760 Gamemaster date quandary
After further research I have determined that the receiver serial number dates to around 1957.
The fellow I received it from says it came that way.
Could this rifle have come from the factory in 1957 with a 1952 barrel and metal ejection port cover?

760 Gamemaster date quandary
Hi all,
I recently acquired a nice condition Model 760 Gamemaster in .35 Remington.
It has a barrel date code of EYY which I think translates to Oct 1952.
It has the metal ejection port cover.
It has the 5 Diamond forend and checkered grip with grip cap.
Factory sling mounts are present.
It also ...

Barrel date codes
Hi all,
Picked up a nice condition model 600 in .308 this week.
Just trying to decipher the barrel date codes.
I think the B P is January 1967 and the V is an inspectors mark or assembly mark.
Not sure what the 88 to the left of the date code means.
Hopefully not that a repair was done.
If so, is ...
