Hi, I'm brand new to the group. I have a model 722 with barrel stamp A UU. Serial number is 605xx. It fits nicely in the list you have compiled as being made in March 1949. The problem being is that it's in 308 win chamber. Can someone help explain this because I thought 308 didn't come out till @19...
