Maybe I’m wrong, but from the choices the last post provided, that was my guess. My serial number is CC92294C. The best I can tell, this starts with a C. I am a novice at this. If there is more than one letter at the beginning, do these need to be combined for accuracy (CC) and not just a C? If so ...

Thank you for your response. Does anyone know when they started using polymer trigger guards? That might help narrow it down some. Remington basically told me when that division of Remington Corp was purchased, not all of the history (serial numbers to dates, etc) came with the purchase. Sounds ...

I recently purchased a used 870 12 ga with a 26” barrel. The only barrel markings are the traditional Remington Arms Company Ilions, NY on the right and ***(star) 12 GA. 2 3/4” and 3”*** (top line) 3 1/2” only with Super Mag receiver (bottom line) on the left, I do not see a barrel code anywhere ...
