The 48 is an 11-48 with a dimpled magazine to hold only two shells. It was designed as a three shot only specifically for bird and duck shooting. The bolts should be identical. BUT, I have heard that there were several 11-48 bolts so wiser heads are needed to get the best answer. The difference IIRC...

As another old fart I agree that far too often we do lose a wealth of knowledge as each elder passes from the green side of the grass. And I've had many years of enjoyment from Remington firearms, handguns, rifles and shotguns. Fortunately for all of you I really don't have a wealth of knowledge so ...
