Not the same model. The Cadet pre-dates the Boy-Scout model by a year or two.

What intrigues me is that my rifle seems to have the same serial number as one that John Gyde ...

I am looking for some information about a Remington rolling block model 4 rifle that has been identified as a rare Cadet model. Rifle has a 28 inch barrel with long fore-end extending close to the muzzle. Barrel is round and has numerous markings consistent with this model. It is a lever takedown ...
