Thank you for the info. The TB I am looking at has a 13-3/8” LOP to the end of the original wood. The standard spacers and pad should be close 14-3/8. Now to find an original/period correct Remington pad and an original grip cap and screw.

It was made in 1973. Remington started producing 870’s in 28ga in 1969. The previous owner bought the gun for his wife in 1973. She didn’t care for it so it was relighted to his safe until this spring.
