Re: Model 14 Doesn't Lock in Battery

Sounds like something is still gummed up. I have a few and a 141 but have had no problems with them . Get a factory repair manual reprint off ebay from Cornell Publishing, might give you some ideas. nambujim will see this eventually and will know where to look, be patient .

Re: Questions About Model 14 Carbine

I also shoot cast as much as I can but what Jim is telling you is true with these particular rifles. You can shoot cast but after a while you will have feeding issues and need to take the feed system apart for some major cleaning. You can do that , I can do it but prefer not to have to as they are n...

Re: Model 25 issues

Jim will be along sooner or later, what he doesn't know about a 14 or 141 ain't worth knowing. As to working on a 25, be glad your not as it appears no one works on them or even has any idea where to start .

Re: Native American Design Rifle?

That design means nothing to anyone except the person that put it on there. Don't see anything specifically native American about it. Remington designed rifle not native American designed rifle. Rifle with possible Native American design would be the correct way to post this. John Browning actually ...

Re: 14 1/2 carbine

Mixed numbers are not normal. First year m14's were not drilled , 14 1/2 I am not sure about. Have you checked for proper feeding with cartridges ? Mixed guns quite often have feeding issues.

Re: 1899 Carbine in .30-40

I looked the other day for pictures of a carbine and everything that came up was the rifle . I would expect the carbine to look much like the rifle and that stock is not even close. I'd enjoy it for what it is , a great looking old school hunting rifle.

Re: 1899 Carbine in .30-40

Mighty nice looking but it appears to be a custom job. Never seen an original Lee with a stock anywhere near that. I like it though.

Re: Model 14

Jim, I want it but I need to wait to hear from Social Security before I feel comfortable doing anything about it . If you can sell it before I get to where I can get it by all means do so . If you still have it when I get my money started or can sell something to cover it I will take it at the price...

Re: Model 14

Rifle came today. It works fine and shoots the 200 grain Core Lokt factory load great with the current sight setting, Shoots an inch to the right so I will fine tune it some but it's close enough to hunt with as it came.

Best Regards

Re: Model 14

I appreciate it Jim but right now it's not something I should do . If I sold some of the foreign military stuff I might could afford it but I really don't have the time right at the moment . If it hangs around long enough I might see what I can do . That probably sold it right there . Every time I s...
