Re: Remington-UMC US Army 1911 December 1918 Production

Since this pistol is primarily a shooter with different slide and frame had it reblued; turned out rather nicely. I'll post a range review once I shoot it.

Re: Colt 1914 Government Model .45 ACP British/Canadian shipped to Remington/UMCMarkings

Took a look at the inside of grips and looks like there are some initials/numbers "1 WV" on top grip and "15" on the lower grip. Any ideas about these; owner's initials/unit designator; (19)15?

Re: Remington Lee 45/70 Model 1885 Navy Rifle

Here are links to US Navy ship logs available at the National Archives to include those on line; will have to peruse them for the names of ships listed above which received the Model 1885 rifles. https://www.archives.gov/research/military/logbooks/navy https://www.archives.gov/research/military/logb...

Remington Lee 45/70 Model 1885 Navy Rifle

Here's my Remington-Lee 45/70 Model 1885 U.S. Navy rifle serial number 3473 Remington serial number 52059 inspected by Lt H. H. Eames (H.H.E). The M1885 USN rifles were issued in larger numbers than either the M1879 or M1882 U.S. government contract rifles. The Navy desired the new Model 1885 Reming...

Remington-UMC US Army 1911 December 1918 Production

Here for your perusal is Remington-UMC .45ACP U.S. Army Model of 1911 serial number 9808 shipped December 1918 per Poyer's Model 1011 book (is any additional shipment information available)? Despite hard use it's nice and tight and should be a good shooter (will post range report when I shoot it).

Re: Colt 1914 Government Model .45 ACP British/Canadian shipped to Remington/UMCMarkings

I sent information and photos of the pistol to the American Rifleman Magazine's Dope Bag and got this interesting reply from Field Editor Bruce Canfield.

Here for your perusal is Colt .45 ACP 1914 Government Model Pistol serial number C9591 which was 1 of 20 shipped to Remington Arms-UMC Company Bridgeport CT on October 5 1914.
