The ‘machine loaded’ shells and components available in the 1895 Montgomery Ward catalog included the “Trap Shooters Delight” which could be ordered with “E.C.”, “Schultze”, S.S. (Smokeless Shot-gun Bulk), American Wood, Black Powder, Walsrode, Dupont Bulk Smokeless, or “Troisdorf” (marketed in the ...

E.D. Fulford used a Remington Hammerless Model of 1894 to win the 1898 GAH at Live Birds. I do not know the grade nor the current location of the gun http://pic20.picturetrail.com:80/VOL1373/6511424/19974446/413037474.jpg Rolla Heikes used a Remington Hammerless Double (grade unknown) to win the 5th...

Annie Oakley's Model 11

I stumbled upon this image of Annie at Pinehurst February 11, 1917 with her Remington Autoloading Shotgun. There also looks to be a small bore double on the table in the foreground. One wooden shell box on the ground is marked Winchester and the other "Steel Lined" which was a UMC marketing name for...

Pre-WWI Remington Shotgun Barrel Steels

Remington was one of the first in the U.S. to manufacture Bessemer barrels: “Fire-Arms Manufacture” 1880, U.S. Dept. of Interior, Census Office “The earliest use of decarbonized steel for gun-barrels is generally credited to the Remingtons, [E. Re: Bulge in Damascus 1894 barrel.

The shooter had used the Parker 6 Iron "Turkish" AH regularly, until noticing the fracture at the muzzle along weld lines. http://pic20.picturetrail.com:80/VOL1373/6511424/17546456/404522251.jpg Your A grade barrels are “Two stripe Damascus” which Remington called "Oxford 2 S.J." Re: Bulge in Damascus 1894 barrel.

Tough decision. Bulges are not hard to repair by an EXPERT. Pressures are very low at the muzzle. BUT if it bulges more, there is a risk of fracture http://pic20.picturetrail.com:80/VOL1373/6511424/17546456/404522250.jpg I'd probably leave it alone. You are aware that there are commercial 12g Smokel...
