Reassembling model 8 barrel?
There seems to be a few good video's on disassembly of the model 8 barrel. But I couldn't find anything on reassembly. I managed to get the task done. By the time I had the spring compressed the washer aligned...3 or 4 turns on the part that holds everything together. I had to stop..wipe my brow and...

Re: Model 8/81? Remington
The stripped stock displays exceptional figuring, with checkering and pistol grip cap. I cant help but think its an above standard grade. Today you never get walnut like this on an off the rack rifle.

Re: Model 8 safety
IMG_0282.jpg IMG_0269 (3).jpg The safety on a recently purchased model 8 was loose and swiveling on the shaft, not engaging or disengaging. Finding a replacement seemed impossible. So I did a solid fix. I dismantled the receiver leaving only the bolt and safety to visually see the proper position, ...

Re: Remington 141
It was a gun show find cheap..as in $350. No one at the small guns how had any idea it was even there. I thought it would at least be a good shooter. Upon disassembly the numbers match, butt plate, stock, trigger assembly and receiver. it functions and fires beautifully.

All barrel codes and serial numbers were photographed and sent to Rem Society member Tom Hemphill. The information was verified and his opinion how the rifle may have been produced.

Re: 141 carbine
Its in .30 Rem. Matching serial number carbine. According to Rem. Society data collector on the 141 carbine. It was not offered with that stock configuration. His theory is that it was possibly built for a Remington employee. It could very well be one of one built. The dealer at the show dropped pri...
