Re: New in box 380 51

Fantastic find. I believe 1919 is correct. Does it have the anchor stamp?

Re: Found a 51

Congrats on your purchase and at a good price. I have been using handloads with Berry's 100 grain bullets and Tightgroup. I have also used Winchester Whitebox with no problems. I like the Handloads better since they don't beat the gun up so much. Enjoy!

Rem 51 parts.

So I picked up some parts for my Rem 51 that I purchased recently. Original mag, barrel, springs etc. It was cheaper to buy the whole lot.
This one also dates to 1920. I have not inspected the breech block yet to see if it is cracked. Fingers crossed.

Re: New to me Remington 51.

I made a range trip the other day and even with it's Triple K magazine it functioned just fine. Very fun to shoot and easy to point. I have not seen many of theses here in Iowa. I traded a mauser for this one and couldn't be happier. More range trips with this for sure.

New to me Remington 51.

I just picked this up from a gunshow. I love the way it fits in my hand. The serial # dates it 1920 Type 1 but the barrel is stamped 380 cal and the frame is stamped with Remington Trade Mark like a type 2. Did I buy a parts put together gun? It looks clean and as long as it shoots ok I'm good with ...
