144xxx Project front site tap question

Gents, I'm going to cut a inch or so off this 1858. Does anyone have any tips or links about how to relocate the front site tapped hole? It is so dang shallow!

144xxx Project

Picked up this piece really cheap, was going to part it out as there is a crack at the end of the barrel. But I think I'll cut off the 1/2 inch and hunt down parts to make it a shooter.

Military Rolling block pickup

Gents picked up a couple rolling blocks a few weeks back at a country auction. One was a early Danish Remington while the other is this one. I don't see any factory markings from any company on this, it is robust, matching numbers and has some military rack stampings. Also, H 1874 on the receiver. A...

CW era New Model Army

Gents, just picked up #112478 which from reading other posts I think put this before Dec 1864 manufacture. Is there a way to find out who this was shipped too via archives?
Best regards,
Bob
