Picked up a Remington Model 25 pump in 25-20. It seems sometime in the past Bubba got a hold of it and did his 'customizing' of the wood. I am currently making a new buttstock for it, and need to make the fore arm also. What I need are the dimensions of the fore arm since Bubba removed so much wood....

Just picked one up, in 25-20 cal. Serial 643X on the receiver and above that AA. On the left side of the barrel is AY so I guess March of 1930?

Old Ruger blackhawks also often show a purple hue on the loading gate. I was informed that it was due to 'high silica content' in the steel casting. Just the 2 cents I heard...take it for what its worth.

Well a BIG BIG hearty THANK YOU to nambujim for his trust and help getting this baby fixed! A new bolt and a cleaning seemed to do the trick. Have some factory ammo that I will try out next week and just cannot wait. Thanks again to Jim and this great forum.

My barrel code is March 1930, serial 119XXX. Would the wrong bolt cause the problem described?
