Restoring My #1 RRB
Well, we are making progress. The barrel liner has been installed. The conversion to centerfire was cleaned up, new firing pin and ejector, etc. All the lines and corners on the metal have been sharpened and trued up without losing any of the patent or other stampings. It's been rechambered for .357...

Re: Has anyone used a Pedersoli John Bodine replica rollingblock
The Pedersolis I have seen do not have same lines as the originals, and I don't care for that look. They have much more wood on the forestock and look pretty angular, whereas the originals have more flowing lines. I like a tapered octagon barrel too, and the Pedersolis don't have that option as far ...

Re: Replacement sights for Model 1 Sporting Rifle
I was in much the same situation as you. I inherited a .38 cal RRB rifle that was my GGrandfather's. Unfortunately, the original cartridge was .38 Long BP, rimfire. If you can find these today they are several dollars per round. Since the barrel looked really nice on the outside (tapered octagon) I ...

Re: Help identifying Rolling Block .32 rimfire
Are the upper and lower tangs where the receiver mounts to the buttstock the same length? Is the receiver edge at the buttstock basically perpendicular to the grip, or is it at an angle? What is the width of the receiver from side to side?

My rifle is now at Delta Gun Shop in Colville, WA where Jim Dubell is installing a .357 Mag barrel liner and chambering the rifle for .357 Mag. Jim can fit just about any liner, which saves your original barrel's appearance and features. Another alternative Jim offers is reboring your old barrel to ...

BTW, here's a photo of what the rifle would look like if it had a forestock and the buttstock was complete. You won't find those kinds of lines in the Pedersolli repro.

Well, I know a bit more about the rifle now. It was a .38 RF, very similar to a .38 Spec. varying only a thousandth or two in case dimensions. That's probably why my father got away with shooting .38 Spec cartridges in it. The rifle is now at Delta Gun Shop in Colville, WA where Jim Dubell is instal...

Why?
I understand that this rifle is not a valuable antique. It is, however, a family heirloom. I would love to bring it back to at least decent appearance, and possibly make it shootable. I don't expect it to be worth nearly what I would put into it to get it back in shape, but it would be satisfying to...
