Re: Remington Model 14 issue
The number is 64626 and it does not have hook/safety lever. I have a question about a 14 1/2 that I have. The serial number 30878 which would indicate a 1914 birthday but it has the hook/safety lever which does not appear until later if the Model14/141 book is correct. I saw that they documented 14 ...

Re: Remington Model 14 issue
Jim,
Thanks for the response. I don't believe it is an ammo issue so I will look into any wear issues. I have not noticed any signs of filing or reshaping on the bearing surfaces.
Are you aware of anyone else brave enough to work on these rifles? I would prefer to make it reliable rather than retire ...

Re: Remington Model 14 issue
Thanks Jim,
I was hoping for your reply. I tried the last email I had for you to contact you directly and it bounced back. Since it was from 2013 that is understandable. I gave you the data for this rifle back then when I was discussing a feed issue for another rifle that I have. I have had this ...

Remington Model 14 issue
I have a 1919 vintage Model 14 in 25 Remington. Infrequently it will fire when the action is closed. This occurs with the safety on and no fat fingers on the trigger so I am thinking it is a sear engagement issue.
Thoughts?

Re: Model 141 odd barrel markings
Thanks for the input. I also noticed that on the left side of the trigger guard the number 33 is stamped as well as two symbols that are the same as the ones on either side of the 1951 date code on the barrel. I am not sure if this would confirm the suspected meaning of the extra line of stamps.

Model 141 odd barrel markings
I recently purchased a 32 caliber model 141. On the left side of the barrel there are two lines of what appear to be manufacture date info instead of one. The top line is K XX 3 which I interpret to be May of 1950. Underneath that the line has a symbol resembling an hour glass on its side then K WW ...

Re: Trying to find info on unmarked Rolling Block
Thanks, that was one of my initial thoughts, however other than the bore diameter none of the other cartridge dimensions work. The base and shoulder dimensions are significantly larger than 43 Spanish. The fact that it has a few Remington marks but the rest is clean also makes me wonder. Were RB's ...

Trying to find info on unmarked Rolling Block
I am trying to help a friend with identifying an unmarked RB and any thoughts on caliber. To start the rifle has no Remington manufacture info on it anywhere. All 3 of the barrel bands have spring retainers with the front band having a crown on the left side, the rear band has a "u" on the left side ...

Re: 760 magazine question
Thanks, any thoughts on a source for an early style 270 magazine? I have tried the usual suppliers without success. One "expert" said that they didn't make the 270 magazine with the hole, yet another reason for my previous question.

Re: 760 magazine question
Which style would be correct for a March 1954 270. I have seen articles that indicate the 270 was chambered in 1953(Old style) and others indicated 1954(New Style)?

Model 14/14-1/2 serial number question
Trying to determine years of manufacture for 2 Model 14s and a 14-1/2. All three have serial numbers that start with "C" and no barrel identification code. Is there a numerical equation to determine the manufacture or is there a list of serial numbers by years for these early guns somewhere?

760 magazine question
Does anyone know when the magazines for 760's changed from the style with the hole in the side to the solid side? My guess is the mid 1950's but I am trying to find out which year.
