That is a beautiful rifle. We don't see many (if any) Hepburn's over here in the UK.

No. Nothing except a small letter D on the right hand side of the frame and an 'R' on the left. Thee also a 'US' stamp on the butt plate.

Another one to hang on the wall

I thought I would write something as it is quite a while since something was put on this page... Here goes. A couple of weeks ago I got the oportunity to buy 2nd type split breech rolling block. T say that they are rare here in the UK is an understanding. I have never seen one before, so I bought it...

Re: Remington rolling block split breech carbinr in .46 rimfire.

Nice find. I have just got one Mine is a type 2 in 50/56 and although a little rough it is complete. I was pleased to find it as they are scarce here in the UK and it is the fist one I have seen . I would think that a good woodworker should be able to help with the fore end. When you have the wood a...

Re: 7 mm rolling block.

7mm Mauser, not rimed. The 7mm Rolling block has a reputation for problems with factory ammo. This is mainly due to head space issues. I load my own and use 'Starting loads. If you have problems obtaining cases you and use 30.06 cases cut to length and then sized. You will find if is worth the effor...

Re: Remington #3 Hepburn manufacture date

Hi
We can own them but it requires paperwork.
You also have to provide a reason to own it.
This reason has to be justified.
You can get around this if you are an registered gun collector.
But becoming one is not an easy task either.

Sounds just like the U.K.

Re: 1903 rolling block

Military Rolling Blocks do not generally have serial numbers. US forces on San Juan Hill did not have Rolling Blocks but the Cubans did. If you intend to shoot it you MUST be careful that the ammo head spaces correctly and you will almost certainly need to hand load your ammo. I use a 7 mm 1902 Roll...
