Remington Smoot New Line #4 - Disassembly
Anatomy and Disassembly There were four of these in the line and this information is for the #4 specifically but may apply to the earlier three as well. I have a written procedure for disassembly and reassembly of the #4 pistol if anyone should need it. They are simple enough to wade through without...

Rem. Model 12 Magazine Tube
Finding it necessary to replace the outer magazine tube on a "fixer" Model 12 that was given to me I was stumped as to how to remove the original tube. It has an obvious set screw between the action arm and the base of the tube, which I removed. What is not obvious and took a good bit of s...

Re: Remington Model 11 Buttplate
Thanks for the help. I figured that it was that pattern but didn't know whether it was the one with the patent information below "Remington" or the one with the circled letter "R" for registered trademark. I have a nice " "Sportsman" with a later added recoil pad t...

Remington Model 11 Buttplate
Does anyone know what buttplate design Remington was using on the Model 11, "The Sportsman" in 1934?
It would be after the Remington UMC logo period and would be "Remington Arms Co." by then but don't know what buttplate logo was in use.
Thanks for any help.

Remington Model 11 Shotgun
I have seen two distinctly different barrel extensions on Remington Model 11 shotguns. I one, the left side of the extension is smoothly rounded it entire length. On the other there is a flat milled into that side that stops short of either end. Does anyone know if barrels with these extensions are ...

Re: Remington Model 31
That's good to know. Since mine apparently didn't have the original stock on it, then it won't be any worse to replace it with an original but non-matching stock. The stock I have was shortened and a Red Head recoil pad added. Hawkins but not Red Head were available from Remington on the higher grad...

Remington Model 31
My question to the forum concerns serial numbering of the stock on the Model 31. The only other two numbers I know of on the gun is on the barrel and the side of the receiver. It seems a bit odd to me that Remington would SN stocks on 31's since the wrist to receiver fit is so simple, not requiring ...
