Re: Reloading for a 43 Spanish RB
Are your cast bullets ~15 bhn? If so/regardless - I would recommend something cast in 20:1 or 30:1 or 40:1, or even pure lead. The softer, the more it should obturate to fill the bore. I am thinking that is the problem. I was pretty sure it was with mine. IF it is somewhere in the .446 size, might e...

Re: 44-90 Remington Special Necked
The .442 sizing is based off literature - not an actual barrel/grooves/slugged. We have new Remington primed cases and I have a .442 factory sizing dies. Lit says 44-90 Remington Special Necked with .442 bullet. Never thought about it being a paper patch! Could be... Regardless, would be a gun(s) we...

44-90 Remington Special Necked
44-90 Remington Special Necked So... the 44-90 Remington Special Necked takes a .442 sized bullet, and I just happen to have a .442 H&I sizing die. Buddy has 200 new (old stock) primed 44-90 Remington Special Necked cases. We have molds that will work as well. This caliber was made on a Rolling ...

Re: Reloading for a 43 Spanish RB
my first Argentine 43 Spanish RB was much like yours sounds like. my research says they scrubbed them in the '50s to remove all the scales etc before putting them on the milsurp market. My first was well scrubbed/polished/ground down/edges rounded (I didn't know any better at the time...). AND the b...

Is the Rcvr just well worn? And is that a Navy Seal Trident on the stock?

Remington Model 8 marked 25-35 Remington
Looking at a Remington Model 8 marked 25-35 Remington on the barrel. Found a single net post delineating 25-35 Remington cartridge as Experimental (http://www.armorypublications.com/2001/4-01.htm - single UMC case headstamped...) vs a 'standard' 25 Remington. I am seeing that maybe early 8 bbl's wer...

Re: 1903 rolling block
I assume the bbl is marked 7mm. If so, most likely a 7x57. However, also not likely to be a SAMMI spec 7x57.

Re: .43 Spanish Brass made from Starline 50-110
Doc Nice thing I found with the 44-77 brass is two diff rim thickness offerings. and the .085 works best, least in mine. As far as making them from 50 brass, the NICE thing they do (to get the .085 rim thickness) is "swage the rim to get it thicker. Why you see the small outer 'recessed' rim on...

Re: .43 Spanish Brass made from Starline 50-110
Doc - YW! I happen to be VERY lucky and have a local/friend/(my RB crack dealer!) who is a RB and old cartridge guru! ONLY reason I even knew the 44-77 even existed!
