Question Remington Model 14

Hey guys! Do any of you know if the earliest model 14's were factory drilled and tapped on the left hand side of the receiver for a peep sight?

#1 Sporting rifle tang screw needed!!!!!

Hey guys,

I badly need a rear tang screw that is long enough to accommodate a period after market tang sight. The original screw that is in my sporter isn't long enough to catch the threads once the sight is added. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Help identifying rolling block vernier tang sight

Gentlemen I need your help once again this time identifying what type of sight I have here. The only thing I can add other than the pics is that the hashes on the side have no numbers. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Remington #1 Sporting Rifle Deer Harvest!

That was a wealth of knowledge there yellowhouse and much appreciated. Am already at work following your advice, probably gonna buy some blackhorn 209 to start with. Am I going to have the same problems when I go to reload my 40-70 BN as the 44-77 or will the regular commercial dies, brass, bullets,...

Hence the 300 grain bullet and minimal powder charge. BTW I have a quick question for you about the 44-77. I have a mid-range t...

Remington #1 Sporting Rifle Deer Harvest!

Thanks to all of you on the Remington Society who have helped me learn about the #1 Sporting Rifle. As far as I am concerned it is one of the finest rifles ever manufactured! Thanks again.

Re: #1 sporting rifle with history *pictures*

Thanks for the tip. BTW I got to shoot my 45-70 with double set triggers for the first time yesterday and it was so awesome! I'll post a picture once I shoot a deer with it or something!

Thanks again
