Re: Help Identifying Print

I can't say if this is original or not. However, it was reproduced in 1982. Since the bottom appears to be trimmed, when framed,
I suspect it is a repro.

Re: Remington #2 sporting rifles - evolution and overview video

Steve, I found your presentation very interesting. I know the Cadet and #7 Rolling Blocks were based on the 1871 Army R. B. pistols. I didn't realize the #2 was also based on that frame. I also didn't know of the different variations. Now I'll have to dig out my #2 in 32 RF smooth bore and see just ...

Re: Remington Model 41-P .22 Manufactured July 1936 -- Missing Rear Sight Elevation Screw

John, I believe Remington peep sites from the 30's would be the same. My 341-P uses an extra peep aperture as a rear adjusting screw. If original the peep from your site should screw into the hole. However, if there was a slotted screw in there the threads might be crossed. If original, finding a re...

I agree with Mike, This 513 bolt handle is different than the other 500 series 22's.

Re: Manufacture date of SPT 48

If the barrel is serial numbered to the receiver, it's a good chance the date code would be correct.

Re: Late production model 95 double derringer

Steve,
I noticed your Derringer is 100% nickel. The typical Remington nickel ones had the hammer, trigger, extractor, and take down lever blued. Thus yours could have been refinished. I'm not saying t is, just that it isn't what we normally see.

Re: Late production model 95 double derringer

Steve, I was going to say Dan didn't have his glasses on  , but I'm sure it was just a typo. His production information is correct. Your O/U is a 4th Model 2nd. variation. Also KZ is May 1931.
I also have an opinion on the derringer itself, but feel an unsolicited comment isn't proper.

Re: Remington Targetmaster model 610

Hi all, I hope to clarify this 510-610 confusion. Remington experimented with a higher powered rim fire cartridge, the 267RF. I don't have the book handy, so I can't give the dates. However the few examples they made were in the 600 series. The 610 single shot, 611 clip magazine, 612 tubular mag. et...

Re: Remington 700 ETRONX

mealtimal Remington discontinued barrel marking codes from 8/'99 to 10/01. Like yours mine doesn't have a visible date code. However they still marked the shipping boxes with the code . The box for my Etronx 22-250 SN EG000536 is date coded 31AU 3/2000. This probably won't give you the month, but it...

Re: Early Fieldmaster 572 aluminum butt plate

All of my lite weights are gone, but as I remember the BT, TWB, and CWB all had chrome triggers, magazine tubes,
and silver or gold colored sights. They also had blond wood with checkering.
That's as I recall.

Re: Engraved Rem 12C

Duke, I just now noticed your post. Where is the "RW" located and is it stamped or engraved? The early M-12's had the serial number stamped on the front underside of the frame and RW was just above it. I believe it stood for Remington Works. If this is the location of your RW, then I belie...

For general information as well as prices, I would recommend "The Blue Book of Gun Values".
All of your arms would be listed with basic information.

Re: Help identifying advertising

I believe these were dealer promotional advertising signs from 1958 or '59.
I base this on the fact that the M-725 was introduced in1958 and the M-740 was discontinued in 1959.
I doubt they would advertise a Model that wouldn't be available.

Re: Remington 612-p

Are you sure this is a 612 and not a 512? The Model 600 Series were experimental, and chambered
in 267 rim fire, not 22rf like the 500 series.
