Re: HELP with a 3200
Remington had a 1 of 500 International and Pigeon Grade variation. 116 of these were engraved by Fissette of Belgium with a few having gold inlays. No serial numbers were listed in the records. The 4th Q 2008 RSA Journal had an article on engraved Remingtons and had a table showing 3 3200s engraved ...

Re: First breach fired rolling block found ?
I am a member of the Remington Society Research Team that found the 1920 Museum catalog and have a copy. The entry reads 66 Rem B L rifle 50 RF cal 39" bbl Case 21 12-4 . The listing was put together 11.1.20 by Melbourne Chambers. The guns were listed in rack order as tag #1 reads Rem rep shotg...

Re: Help with Remington-Lee 45-70 (Navy)
Hi Jim, My emails were hacked a while back but I found one of your messages. The Remington serial number should be 50803. The highest Model 1885 serial number to turn up so far is 54958. WW Kimball inspected the first 1,950 Navy rifles with US Navy numbers from 1001 to 2950. The first 1,650 rifles w...

Re: 721 Premier 300 H&H...doesn't look right to me
If you go to the second page of this forum and look at WesF's post - model 721F and model 8 grade 5 questions - he has a nice Model 721F pictured. The F after the Model is clearly pictured. The style of the engraving scrolls is a bit different from later Runge and Ennis work but little is known abou...

Re: 721 Premier 300 H&H...doesn't look right to me
One of the keys to IDing factory engraved arms is whether the serial number, Remington logo and model designation are engraved or if there is a "D or F" after the Model . The serial number looks engraved as the factory lightly stamped them on production rifles. I would like to see the Remi...

Re: Remington 180th Anniversary - Number of 5 gun sets
The sets were a special order out of Canada. We know the original asking price but aftermarket sales have been nil. I agree - my 7400 has spectacular wood. As to price it might be worthwhile to contact Tim (Playtimefun) to find out what Cabelas - Canada is asking for their sets. Special orders are a...

Re: Remington 180th Anniversary - Number of 5 gun sets
As noted above very few change hands so pricing is difficult. I have a Model 7400 serial number ER028 and paid a small premium in 2002 over a regular 7400 as the dealer wanted to move it. His original price was in the range of a Model Four Anniversary rifle. Most interesting that serial number 29 ha...

Re: mod 721F and mod 8 grade 5 questions
Wes - No sooner that I posted I remembered that the 1950 Remington High Grade catalog showed a 722F. The statement is correct as the production summaries do not show any high grade M722s sold. I have added a picture of the 722F from the catalog as well as pics of the Ennis and Runge signatures. RPR7...

Re: mod 721F and mod 8 grade 5 questions
Wes - The 721F is very nice and rare. According to the chart on p. 72 of Lacy's book on Model 700s only 13 high grade (D & F) Model 721s and no Model 722s were made. Production of the 721Fs were: 1951 - 3, 1952 - 2 and 1953 - 2. Yours is the first that I have seen with a gold inlay. I was not ab...

Re: Sportsman 48F
Is it the 11-48 auto 12 1954 Premier offered by GP Firearms? If so you would need close ups of both sides, bottom and top of the receiver as well as pictures of the stock. The detail of the engraving is not clear on the website. The 12 gauge barrels were normally 26" to 32". I have a recor...

Re: Sportsman 48F
Factory hand engraved firearms start with a clean receiver and the Remington logo, Model, grade and serial number are hand engraved either on the side or bottom of the receiver. See attached auction catalog pictures. Typical factory "F" grade engraving is 3 game scenes on each side but the...

Re: 760 magazine question
Richard Pearson of The Clip Joint PO Bx 67, Centerville, PA 16404 helped me a great deal with getting a number of the early magazines shown in my Autoloading & Pump Action book. He has tables at the Syracuse Gun Show and a number of PA shows. Very helpful. A smooth side, no ribs, magazine would ...

I have used an aftermarket synthetic stock on my 7600 that was listed for both the 760 and 7600 with no problems.

Re: 760 magazine question
Caliber .270 Winchester was added to the line in the March 31, 1953 Remington catalog. The magazine with holes was used up to late 1953 or early 1954 when the side hole was dropped and the feed lips were slightly changed. The third version with the vertical side ribs was introduced in mid to late 19...

That post still stands as the RSA Research Team has not found any additional information in the archives or from chatting with long time employees.
