Re: Rem Rolling Blocks conversion from 32 Rim

Thanks for the other opinions on this. I know the brechblock and hammer on nearly all rolling blocks are very strong and have been used for many conversions over the years. I have some thoughts to do some more reasearch on this as I have read even the use of 32 S&W long and some others already m...

Re: Rem Rolling Blocks conversion from 32 Rim

Thanks guys! I have as stated many more nice shooting Rollers and Martini Henry's in 577 and 303. Have a fantastic Falling Block Works in 30-40 Krag AI. I had just read about the 32 rimfire conversions and wanted some other thoughts. Which I agree with by looking at the loading data. I will be putin...

Rem Rolling Blocks conversion from 32 Rim

I have several old Remington Roller's, Winchesters 92's, Colt lightning rifle and a half dozen S&W //Colt pistols in 32 WCF. I have one No 2 Rem in 32 Rimfire and would like to change to 32 WCF and even have heard about the 32 H&R Mag fitting the same chamber. I know I'v heard the conversion...

Re: 1899 remington lee sporting rifle ????

Actually that is a nice rifle with tons of history. My thought is that it should be cleaned up and shot only for the local classic rifle shooters matches and not too often. It has done a fine job thru the years and should be proudly displayed. If you need to have a hunter then you can find something...

Request info on 1899 Rem Lee Sporter

I just received this from a estate sale and besides the little in the Blue book there is not much info on them. This one is the only one I have had in my collection of RB's and it is in beautiful condition. has the Pistol grip 2 point checkering and not a lot of wear showing. Barrel is very nice cri...

Re: Try Try Again

Thanks so much for the info on this nice old roller. I have wiped it down with ballistol oil and the stock just needed some soap and warm water followed by Howards, not hardly a scratch. The bore is very nice but the breechblock has the FP and retainer screw rusted through. Just fell apart in pieces...

This is a frustrating Board

I guess I am trying too hard to ID this. I have several other Rolling blocks that are also nearly unidentifiable as the parts are so interchangeable. I have one that stumped me for awhile as it had the 1867 Navy barrel. I do have a problem that someone could help me with though. The breech-block on ...

This is a frustrating Board

I have been a member of the Remington SOA for well over 4 years. I have been a serious collector for over 25 years and am redirecting my collecting into Single shot rifles with attention to carbines. On four threads dated 21, 22, 23 and 25 July I have asked for assistance from the knowledgeable memb...

Light Baby Carbine, Really like some help on this one.

I know the carbines with the term "Light Baby Carbines" Was not used as such until after the late 1888 change of ownership. I am really trying to figure out a way to establish what is the origin of this beautiful old roller. The only info I can find on a 46 Long cal is about 20 that were s...

Light Baby Carbine, Really like some help on this one.

[/img]I Have been through my books and all the online info I can find. The possibility that it is in 46 Long Rimfire may indicate it is one of the supposedly 20 +- that were sold to Columbia, per George Layman's book, Pg. 169. There are pictures on the earlier posts that should help. The Deep Cresc...

Try Try Again

I guess if this won't get photos on the forum then I will have to send some other way. I have just removed the butstock, which was fitted perfectly. I have not seen any replacement wood that ever fit so perfectly on any of the oldies I have gone thru in the last 30 years. The IMPORTANT thing is the ...

Photos for Light Baby Carbine

Well I have spent nearly 2 hours trying to get photos on this board. I have reduced them all to under 400 K and still to large. Someone let me know how to put pics on this . Thanks

DSC_0498.JPG DSC_0499.JPG DSC_0496.JPG [/img] I have been trying to redirect my collecting toward Single Shot BPCR's the last 2 or 3 years. Really been into the Rolling Blocks and have a good start of 20 or so. Several really hard to find and others just the 79 Argies, Egypts and NYS Militia 50/70s...

??s on Mod 10

Trying to find info on this Mod 10. I have taken down the butt stock and compared the SN: U86145, the Op rod has Remington Trap Grade, and the checkering on the wood is in VG condition. The top of the inside upper left of the tang has 3S and either a rotated E or W. This old shotgun just needs some ...

Help with heavy trigger release on several RB's

I have several RB's that have very heavy cocking and seem to be dragging across the Breechblock, this is marring the nice blue on the BB. Also one that requires the hammer to be pulled back a MM or so after it is set to cock and reload the breech. Where do I need to polish and / or replace springs.
