Re: Converting a Model 58 to a 870

Its not something on my top ten list. But if I had a crapped out 870 and a clean 58 receiver. I would Frankenstein it! Tom

Re: Model 11 20 guage -Prototype? unknown history

Hello. I wish I had a better photo but your gun looks like this. My 20ga vent rib sportsman. I usually will pay more for a three bird gun. Often times they seam to have a nicer wood and checkering pattern. Tom

Re: Converting a Model 58 to a 870

The seller does indeed convert 58 receivers by using mostly 870 parts. He is a good guy. I have bought lots of Remington parts from him over the years. I'm sure he would give you the details if you asked him. If I had a bare 58 receiver, I would do it myself. Tom

Re: 16 ga. Mod 11 Question

I measured several 16ga springs. Varied from 6⅜ to 6⅞. The longest spring was on a gun with a guide ring. Its hard to say what would be proper from the factory. I come to no conclusion between sportsman and 11. All seam very similar. I would look for a spring around 6½". Tom

Re: 16 ga. Mod 11 Question

Hello again. Some of my sportsman models do have guide pins. And even the guns that have the guide rings, still have the holes for the guide pins in both the wood and the receivers. Like I said, my guns have one or the other, but not both. Later, Tom

Re: 16 ga. Mod 11 Question

Hello. I looked at a couple dozen of my sportsman and model 11's. I found no rings on any of my model 11. And only a few rings on my latest of production sportsman models. The only thing that I did notice, is that my guns with these rings do not have the forearm guide pins. Maybe this is the key. I ...

Re: Remington 11 grade 6, or is it f grade ?

Hello Will. Thank you for the information. I am Mr. Wheaton on gunbroker. I do like the old squarebacks, both Browning and Remington. Any pictures of the same vintage gun would be appreciated. The original stock that I have isn't a round knob but more of a half pistol grip I guess and the checkering...

Re: Remington 11 grade 6, or is it f grade ?

Thank you. There is also a dn3 under the barrel address. Almost below where it says Browning's. You can barely see it in my photo. The buttstock has been replaced but I got the original badly repaired piece when I purchased the gun. I think the bolt or at least the handle has been replaced as it has...

Remington 11 grade 6, or is it f grade ?

Hello. I have a Model 11 . Ser# 116,134, it is a vent rib rib, pistol grip stock. Could someone tell me the manufacture date? It is a Remington Umc. It doesn't say Grade F on the barrel like I would have thought for a UMC gun , but there is an engraved 6 on the underside of the barrel. All numbers m...
