This just showed up on another board.
I figgered that if anyone knew anything about such a critter, it would be someone here.

Re: No 4 rolling block take down date of manufacture
That's a bit confusing. Did they make lever takedowns and screw takedowns at the same time? I'm looking at a screw takedown with a 317xxx number.

Re: 7mm Roller
So, is the chamber just too long - more leade than is needed? Or is the shoulder set further forward? Or what exactly is too long?

7mm Roller
I read, somewhere, that the 7x57 Rollers were not the exact same cartridge that Herr Mauser chambered his bolt guns in. Does anyone know if that's true? I have no interest in shooting factory ammo in mine. I plan on Lee's 130 grain cast bullet. Just want to be sure that my dies and brass will work.

Re: Thanks
Now, this is interesting. By the barrel marking (AZ), my model 14 is March of 1931. But by that serial number list, on page 55, my gun (121xxx) was made in January of 1930. Hmmm. That page says it is Model 14 Rec. Does that mean that my receiver was made in January of '30, but they didn't get around...
