Remington600, Having a hard time relating the barrell code and date tables to my barrell. Left side of my barrell next to the reciever is: ". 7 7" followed by 3 smaller vertical lines right against the reciever. Right side of my barrell next to the reciever is: "O 1 X" or the let...

I know my 550-1 was made between 41 and 1970, but how do I affectively narrow the hunt to the exact date or can I?

Also where would I find the serial number or other marking that might assit in narrowing down to the manifactoring date?

Good question - assumed it was a 12, thinking the model 11 came as 12 only. You can tell I'm ignorant, how would I tell?

Would you please let me know how you arrived at the year? Also, can I still get an owners manual on the gun and how?
