Re: LOADING & FEEDING OF THE MODEL 14/141

I find it easier to load 4 cartridges into the magazine if I use the next cartridge to insert the first 3. In other words after loading the chamber, put 1 cartridge into the magazine 1/2 way, then push it in with the next cartridge leaving that one out 1/2 way etc. etc. When the 4th cartridge is pus...

Re: .30 Remington HELP ....

I handload my .30 Rem ammunition using new Remington brass, purchased from Reed's ammunition and research in Oklahoma city. They also sell .30 Rem loaded ammo, but its expensive and not always available. I have seen older .30 Rem ammo being sold as collectable and even old 30 rem empty boxes may be ...

I finally got back home to NY and unboxed my rifle, and it appears to cycle perfectly. Many thanks to Jim.

Re: LOADING & FEEDING OF THE MODEL 14/141

Don't mind a bit. I couldn't be more pleased to have my model 14 functional once more, and with the proper take down screw. I just may have to refinish the gun when I have some time. But for now I know it will make it to hunting season.

Re: talk about your all-time bone headed moves.....

I say rent a metal detector, old rifles are good. My father lost his knife on opening day last year. I found it 2 weeks later under some leaves in our ground blind. Knife wasn't worth much but it was his knife for at least 60 years, and we were very happy to find it. Your search might not be as easy...

MODEL 14 HELP NEEDED

Hello all, I'm new here and just beginning to find my way around. I actually posted a couple times in the wrong places, (sorry) but I think I found my way now. I'm looking for a gunsmith to fix my model 14 in .30 rem, and I believe this may be the place to find him (hope so). Anyway problem is the g...

MODEL 14 NEED HELP

I am looking for help with a model 14 I purchased a few months back. The rifle intermittently failed to fire (actually failed to lock into battery) when I first got it. After several boxes of ammo and cleanings, it has gotten much worse and now will not lock in battery at all. I have been unable to ...

Re: LOADING & FEEDING OF THE MODEL 14/141

This is not actually a reply, but I have a problem of my own and cannot figure out how to create a new post. Just joined the society hoping I could find some help. Last hunting season I stopped into an upstate gunstore and found an old model 14 for sale. It was just like my Dad's old rifle that I le...
