Re: Spare cylinder for original New Model Army available?

Hi sig, That is very interesting. It makes I wonder if any of the other Pietta repos have parts that are interchangeable with original? I also have hammer and few springs that with minor fitting will fit and function. Here are more comparison and fitting pics for your analysis. https://i.imgur.com/...

A reproduction or minor fitting is no problem for me.
Pietta cylinder will fit right in. Mine was bit longer (.25mm) but timing is perfect.

Re: Something bothers me on my Remington Belt model

Only about 2500 of these were made and all have checkered not serrated hammer. Also, faint machining marks in your pic indicate a modern machining technique and not consistent with the rest of the wear on the gun. Re: Remington 1858 - another one.

Your revolver was shipped to the Government in June of 1864. The most likely reason for the barrel serial number being different from the frame and T/G serial number is because the original barrel did not pass inspection. Your barrel is from a revolver, which was manufactured in March of 1864. That...

Re: Remington 1858 - another one.

Hi, What are the two serial numbers? Also does the serial number on the trigger guard tab match either the barrel or frame number? Bill Barrel has 61973 and frame/TG has matching 81671 numbers. Inspection marks: Barrel C & A Frame C, A, H & R under the left grip panel. Cylinder P, P & P...

Re: 1858 Remington New Model US

That is one in all original shape. Halos around stampings looks intact, so it is not refinish.
Post more pics when you can.
