Re: 03A3 Springfield (Remington)
Greetings again, First go back and review my post of March 19/3:48PM. Remington's 'A3 program never reached 4.24 million rifles (serial numbers). Your 9-43 barrel should likely have a SN somewhere between 3.96 and 4.15 million. There is no way to assuredly authenticate the original pairing of a barr...

Re: 03A3 Springfield (Remington)
Greetings again, Yes, the S-C 2 groove barrels were essentially identical to Remington's for one primary reason. The two groove approved design tested and established through Remington's 1942 experimentation program between Febr. and June 1942 required S-C to follow suit . The methodology of the tim...

Re: 03A3 Springfield (Remington)
Greetings again, You have me a bit confused ??? You say you have a "RI" receiver with a 9-43 Remington 2 groove barrel. You also say your stock is a "JSA" stock. If I'm reading correctly, you have a "Rock Island" receiver. But, the problem is that Armory's production ne...

Re: 03A3 Springfield (Remington)
Greetings, Remington Arms began their '03 production with the standard 4 groove rifling. However, upon the Japanese war declaration, the rifle production rate was increased to 3000 rifles per day. This resulted in the M1903A3. After the British success with the 2 groove barrel experimentation, Remin...

Re: Remington 1903A3 & WWII Lend Lease Program
Thanks BryanJ, Thanks for your kind comments. Yes, your stock may be worth more than the entire rifle to certain folks. So, be thankful that you have it. You can easily find a stock for the 'A3. As far as my own activities are concerned, I've still got a number of things in the works that remain inc...

Re: Remington 1903A3 & WWII Lend Lease Program
Greetings BryanJ, There exists no serial number record of the Remington M1903 series that ended up in New Zealand during WWII. So, I cannot validate that your rifle was ever there in terms of being a 5-43 barreled M1903A3. But, I can assure you that it never arrived as part of the emergency redirect...

Re: List of members and what they collect
Hi John, If you'll send me an E-mail I'll follow-thru with you personally. But, to answer your question, the RSA does maintain an ongoing ability to produce a "Collector Interest List" upon demand. In order to qualify to have a copy, however, a member must consent to be on the list and hav...

Re: SHOOTER13 from Pennsylvania
Shooter 13,
I suggest you go to the Homepage and click on the Serial Number link. You should be able to get the month and year of your rifle's assembly from the code chart thereon. Hope this helps and thanks for checking in..........
