Re: An 1100 that looks like this

There's a fine line between nice looking wood and is that plastic?

Finding a like new from the 60's is going to be tough.

Re: An 1100 that looks like this

Thanks a bunch I really don't know a heck of a lot about shotguns or have had the opportunity to shoot them much, being they put the controller for my spine in my right shoulder I'm going to have to be careful which is why I don't care about magnums anyhow. I recently found a 50's 870 and shot it al...

Screen Shot 2017-12-27 at 11.41.59 AM.png Can anyone tell me exactly what I need to look for if I want a 1100 that looks like this? I don't know if that's a specific year or what, but that's what I want in 12 what should I be searching for? This is a 410 regardless they wanted to much money for it ...

Re: Where to purchase a presentation case for my 1858 Reming

Does anyone know where to purchase a presentation case for my 1858 Remington? Saw a few websites, but they were selling for over $200. Are there many places that sell these cases? Thanks Mike You want a nice wood presentation case for under $200? That's in the you need to make it yourself price ran...

Re: 1875 Remington SA - date of mfr.

It's at least harder to tell on some models then others but there can be common tell tail signs, these pictures are just no good enough to even determine that but in any case without gun in hand it would be just a best guess anyhow. This is probably why we don't discuss values on the board in genera...

Re: 1875 Remington SA - date of mfr.

Few more larger photo's all around would help including th address, but it appears that the barrel was cut and it's probably been refinished.

Re: New (to me) Model 12.

I'm not sure I'm following this exactly but there is the vinegar and peroxide trick, it does remove lead, it DOES REMOVE BLUE, so be very careful and we are talking a minute or two duration.
Google it I'm sure there's a youtube or something ;)

Re: model 17

The serial is on the left side of the frame under the model 17, with the serial we should be able to get it to at least a year. The Model 19 started in 1921 which is when they started date coding, was it day 1 in 1921 that I don't know so if it's really a couple digit serial it's possible it doesn't...

Any writing on the top of the barrel?
That's not a Remington front sight.
The grips I wouldn't be the farm on.

Re: Model 32F Dilemma

I've been sitting back sort of watching this but... If I had a 32F (factory) has to be rarer then snot, there's just absolutely no way I would have it refinished and flush thousands of dollars down the drain, if I just had to have a 32 to shoot (and I do) I'd go buy another one for this at a faction...

At the time per the scale it was worth around $125, I don't remember when gold went insane but it was before that.
