Re: Last years of mfg for 1100 with RKW?

Thanks to everyone. What I would give to have all the 1100s I had at one time......back. LOL I've been looking at early small bore 1100s.....Holy moly. I need my 1969 410 Mod back.......I even know where it is. I shot hundreds of quail with that shotgun. Current owner NEVER sells one once he gets it...

Re: Last years of mfg for 1100 with RKW?

Thanks. That's a big help. I wasn't aware the cut checkering and the finish change were related, but makes sense.

Thanks again
God Bless

Last years of mfg for 1100 with RKW?

Is there information concerning when the 1100s that were manufactured were no longer made with the RKW Dupont finish? Did it go into the late 70s?
I sure would like to know when use of the RKW finish ended.

Thanks and God Bless

Re: Remington 1100 410 shell capacitry reduced in some?

It looks like someone added the rod inside and attached it to the cap with an allew screw in the center and put a short spring in it. That puts weight out front similar to the magazine cap weights but inside.

Wonderful, now to find an origianl 410 magazine cap, retainer and spring.

Remington 1100 410 shell capacitry reduced in some?

Ive got a 1100 Remington 410 skeet gun from the 80s. When I took the forearm cap off there is a long heavy rod attached to the cap and when put back in it pushes down the spring for the ammo ejection but its WAY down the shell tube, about 7 inches. ????????????? They made a 1100 that is NOT a five s...

Re: How to tell if a Model 1100 410 is a 3 inch receiver?

Thanks for that reply. Ill do more checking and also check two I have coming. I have both a "skeet" model and a standard field model coming. One gentleman told me he thought the port itself was shorter on the skeep version??? The ejector location makes more sense to me. thanks again!!! Any...

How to tell if a Model 1100 410 is a 3 inch receiver?

I had always thougth that Remington 1100 410s were all the same BUT I found one that is labeled SKEET on the barrel and when a barrel with a 3 inch chamber is put on it, the round fires fine but the empty hull will NOT clear the port to eject. I've asked around and others have had the same. When you...

Re: Share your Factory Checkered 721/722 Photos?

Anything could be true, I'm just going by comparing a couple hundred 722s Ive seen. It's barrel code is for March 1960, supposedly 3 months after BDLs were made http://www.remington.com/library/history/firearm_models/centerfire/model_722.asp I do,however, know that models did NOT start and stop Jan ...

Re: Share your Factory Checkered 721/722 Photos?

Thanks Lowgun and Rem141. Lowgun, that is MY opinion on that particular rifle myself. IF NOT factory..just HOW did an obviously high grade, obviously original stock get out of Remington NOT being checkered? As Rem141 said, and I too had see this, the AC model was available in the early 50s but they ...

Share your Factory Checkered 721/722 Photos?

Remington sent me information that: it must be kept in mind that checkering patterns do change, within a grading, from year-to-year sometimes The "issue" of "factory checkered or not" is oftened discussed, argued, etc etc. I thought all of us could SHARE photos of what WE THINK w...

Re: 721 722 725 dates of mfg

Thanks. I thought the same on the trigger and will replace it with the original in time or trade it out with the one off the 1950 Fajen stocked one since already not original. Stock checkering is same as I've seen in a couple now and by your description mine IS a transition one? Regular screw in rea...
