Looking for Remington 30A or S

Hi all, I am hoping to locate a Remington bolt action factory sporter. Would like one with a 24" barrel in 30-06 with the open leaf sight preferably. If it is tapped with the Tilden or first generation Redfield bridge mounts I would be okay with that. It is to be an heirloom rifle to be passed ...

Re: Remington Model 14

A very Merry Christmas to you too JP. :P
I'll watch for more stops but there aren't a whole lot of the 14's out here. Let me know if you find some.

Re: Remington Model 14

Both are AWOL! :( Bummer Man. I guess we better start calling Numrich and keep bugging them until they make another batch. I don't know where else to try unless you buy one of those beater guns from J.P. in Quebec and then have yet another incomplete gun.... vicous circle. Too bad we are so f...

Re: Remington Model 14

ccic, Good to see you found this site! As mentioned you will only be able to feed cartridges through the tube mag so they slide under the claws of the breech bolt correctly. With the cartridge stop, we had to fit one in the 1912 25Rem I had sold to my BIL. We got one from Numrich and although it was...

Re: Question about No 6. thumb extension.

Well if it is the "thumb piece" listed for the 6 improved model they appear to be sold out.

Hopefully they were all the same. I cannot find anything for the early style model 6 on the Numrich site.

Berns, that is just the news I was hoping for, I still have not remedied the situation so you are not too late.

Thank you VERY much! 8)

Re: Question about No 6. thumb extension.

Actually I have looked at it VERY closely. There are no threads evident there. However that means very little. While I respect your opinion regarding going to a gunsmith, my few visits to them have revealed to me I can do every bit as good a job on a small task like this. :| I have a lathe at my dis...

Question about No 6. thumb extension.

My long awaited parcel finally arrived today but it was not at all like Christmas morning. I won't bore you with details but it involves damage galore and missing parts. The thumb extension for opening the falling block was snapped off. It is a fresh clean break and the knob itself was in the scabba...

No 6 Boys Rifle DOM please

Hi all! I have a little rifle on it's way. I will be showing it in a history display in September. Would someone mind letting me know the date of manufacture so I can post that info with the rifle? Serial number is on the barrel, S3001xx, has the stamped tang sight. 20" barrel. 22 Long rifle. A...

Re: Mod 81 in .300 Savage

While I love to collect different guns they will all get used to varying degrees. My model 8 for instance is in 25 Rem. I plan to make a load specific for it that shoots as accurate as possible but is not "hot" enough to cycle the next round in and shuck the fired one off in the deep grass...

Re: Model 30 Express 25 Rem

Thanks Rick, I have poured alot of resources into collecting all this stuff, sure hope it looks good as a finished product. The paper ad turned out to be a Model 14 in 25Rem. She is what the Savage Folks would call a grey rat, someone's name engraved in 1/2" tall letters on the reciever  ...

Re: model 721 question

I had to check some pics online as I could not recall exactly.......there is a button right in front of the trigger inside the guard. press it while pulling the bolt back and it should slide right out. It has been awhile but I believe that is all there is to it.

Enjoy your classic. 8)

Re: Model 30 Express 25 Rem

Hey Noel, I guess I missed something. Do you also have a Mo 30 or is your 25 Rem in a different bolt gun? I am thinking it would be sweet in a Sako medium action (if you have easy money) or in the Savage 340 (if you are frugal). I have been called frugal before. I picked a a nice little 14 (1...
