I have used Red Dot ,Green Dot and now PB all with 1 oz. loads .They all work good. I started with Red Dot 50 years ago.. I bought mine first Remington Double 1889 in 1971 then I went to Green Dot now I using 20 grs. PB 1oz shot. somewhere years back in the America Rifleman is article about loads fo...

I have Model 1889 with serial number 3050. Also I did a article on transition double from E. Remington to Remington Arms Co. I have Model 1882 with receiver stamp grade and Remington Arms markings.

Phillip did you find out what is the problem that the barrels will not come off the receiver.

The breech is bigger the firing pins are recess in receiver. ooh the hammer screws are not original that does not have anything to do with the Model.

Dan from the pictures your double is a Model 1878 Heavy Duck Gun.
Oh yes the pistol grip cost $5.00 to $6.00 extra.

I might have the parts you need. And parts from a 12ga. gun should work. The main spring is the same for all gauges.

George,, The P was added to serial number and your F Trap was made 1905.. The Q was add to the Model 1900..

I have two F Trap guns and one D Grade Live Pigeon Gun. One is picture in Charles Semmers book.
Art McKee started longing all Remington Model serial numbers fifty years ago I have all the numbers and have added serial numbers. Regards 2shooter

Your Remington double is a Model 1900 K grade made in 1907. Also you post your question in the rifle section.

A. E. Whitmore was the inventor designer of the Lifter. Look at the metal tab between the hammers of Model 1873 Hammer Lifter some where mark A.E. Whitmore and the patent date Aug.8,1871 and April 16,1872. That is where the name Whitmore or lifter comes from does not refer to the combo guns.

That is good what about the screw that hold the hammer. The original hammer screw is .110 x 46 thread per inch. I only ask how original do you want the gun. I like the real gun.

I have question with the ugly hammers did they mess up the tumbler that the original hammer will not fit right.
