I have used Red Dot ,Green Dot and now PB all with 1 oz. loads .They all work good. I started with Red Dot 50 years ago.. I bought mine first Remington Double 1889 in 1971 then I went to Green Dot now I using 20 grs. PB 1oz shot. somewhere years back in the America Rifleman is article about loads ...

I have Model 1889 with serial number 3050. Also I did a article on transition double from E. Remington to Remington Arms Co. I have Model 1882 with receiver stamp grade and Remington Arms markings.

The breech is bigger the firing pins are recess in receiver. ooh the hammer screws are not original that does not have anything to do with the Model.

I might have the parts you need. And parts from a 12ga. gun should work. The main spring is the same for all gauges.

George,, The P was added to serial number and your F Trap was made 1905.. The Q was add to the Model 1900..
