Re: HELP: sight options for my 7600 in .308

I have owned about 16 or more Remington Gamemasters in my 35 year hunting career and my family owns another 10 Gamemasters and they all wear one sort or another of a SEE THRU scope mount. One brand that comes to mind is the Kwik Site, another is a Genuine Remington See Thru mount, such as was sold i...

Re: what stocks will fit a 7600

The Model 760 stock is also a direct replacement. The 870 - 12 gauge stock I believe also fits, but does not match, due to the fact that the checkering is different. The easiest way to replace the stock is to find a good used 760 Gamemaster with the stock that you desire to have and exchange stocks ...

Re: Remington 121 original finish?????

Well - since RKW had not yet been invented, my guess would be some type of Lacquer type finish. The finish on my dad's rifle of that era is - how can I put it - crappy at best. The clearcoat on the stock has fallen off and even the stain on the wood has fallen off in places. It appears to me as if t...

Re: Model 760 buttplate color??

I believe that the original ones were metallic and painted, and that they could have been made out of brass. / who knows, who cares? The first models were not the most popular and are not really a collectors grade - the chances of finding a collectors grade Deluxe BDL is extremely rare. Those guns w...

Re: First hunting rifle: .243 or .308?

Without knowing all of the particulars, there is no way for sure to answer your question correctly. Because I live in Pennsylvania, my opinions are biased towards larger caliber firearms. My particular situation finds me hunting in the hardwoods of western Pennsylvania 80% of the time and my rifle o...

Re: Scope Mounts

The only difference between the 760 and the 7600 mounts is that the 7600 mounts uses a larger screw then the 760. I doubt if you are going to easily find some of those scope mounts that you have described - unless you do a internet search. If you did one and could not find the mount that you were lo...

Re: 760 Carbine 280

There were more carbines made in the 1970's - which has not been mentioned. If you can offer a serial number and a couple of pictures - it would really help your cause. Maybe you can date code the barrel and figure out when yours was made. My memory is not what it once was, but I believe that less t...

Re: Any info on a 7600 made in .35 Remingtong?

Call Remington - 1 - 800 - 243 - 9700 If my records are correct - there was several models which were offered through Grice Gun Shop over the years. More then 500 total has been made. My guess would be more then 2500 in the past 20 years. One special one will have a number burned into the side of th...

Re: Good deal on a Model 141 ???

I purchased a Remington Model 141 .35 cal. rifle at an auction last night. After a little research, I believe it was manufactured in October 1935, and the serial number is 7081. It is in what I would consider good/very good condition, and I paid $290 for it. Would this be considered a valuable rifl...

Re: reloading the 30 remington in a model 14

Nambujim is right. You need to remember that the action in your rifle is very delicate and over loading any shells for that rifle will cause irreparable damage. At the very least - it will cause the action to blow open when you fire the firearm - not a good thing. You need to understand that there i...
