Can someone tell how the action bar engages the breech block? I know the action bar lock(which is in the breech block) must latch on to it is some manner, but how? Walt is right. I stand corrected. It is my understanding that the .22 rem auto was a black powder cartridge and caused the Model 16 to jam often.

I believe the Remington rim fire is the same as .22 WRF except it has a round nose rather than flat. The .22 WRF will work I think, and it is available from Cabela's for about $50/500. Look for obsolete .22 ammunition on thier site.

Sidehammer, you can get an Owner's Manual from the Remington Firearms site. I have gotten several over the years including the Model 141. It will tell you how to perform the complete disassembly of the rifle. It will be most helpful because John Pederson liked to design complicated mechanisms. Best ...
