Re: 1985 Remington 1100 SP Magnum 26"&30" Barrels

I've got what you r describing except mine is made in 86 and has remchokes. 26 Inch barrel. It does not say special purpose on it and nor do the ones I've seen on gunbroker say special purpose. Mine has the finish u r describing but nothing is chrome lined on it. That would make them pretty expensiv...

Re: hey virginian. i got some 1100 questions

Well I emailed Remington and asked them questions. They said with a 2 3/4 field barrel on a magnum gun you can shoot light or heavy loads. So they say. And said 3 inch turkey loads where fine through the steel shot barrel on the magnum gun. Still kinda wonder about the technical stuff. Hey Virginian...

Re: hey virginian. i got some 1100 questions

Well the gas port on my ssb is slightly larger than two other original magnum barrels I had. One being a 30 inch full choke barrel and the other barrel a 26 inch remchoke parkerized barrel. The steel shot barrel cycles more lower power loads. My other magnum barrel I can't count because its an alter...

Re: hey virginian. i got some 1100 questions

Well I think I'll just put a standard barrel on and bang away. If I notice something that doesn't seem right I'll just get a standard sleeve on it and it will be fully converted. I would be putting a field barrel on,not a target barrel....yea the steel shot barrel is the same except its gas port is ...

Re: hey virginian. i got some 1100 questions

Virginian u said any target loads would be fine. Does that include the sporting clay loads I'm talking about like Remington premier nitro sporting clays 1 1/8 load and not sure bout the dram on those. They r 1300 ft per second and the shell says max on it so I guess its a max dram for sporting clays...

Re: hey virginian. i got some 1100 questions

Well it will probably be better if I put a standard sleeve on one and just basically it be a standard 1100. Wish I could find a magnum that would shoot 1 1/8 loads but I haven't got that lucky. I've got a special purpose magnum that actually has REM chokes and the parkerized finish with 26 inch barr...
