Re: Remington 600 Based Firearms

While I've never owned any, I mentioned the 6.5 & 350 Magnums but, I left out the 600 Mohawk and the last 600 type, the Model 7. They are part of the family, too. My assumption , regarding the 600 Mohawk, was that they were put on the market to close out what was left of the 600 inventory, in wh...

Re: John Gyde?

I bought my "book" on CD, when it was first offered.

I would think, that if you can get a hold of him, it might be still available on CD.

Remington 600 Based Firearms

Hi all, I've had a on going affection for the 600 based guns, since 1968, when I bought my first 600. It was in 243 W but, I liked the 6mm, MUCH better so, I sent it off to a PA barrel maker and had a 26" long, 10 twist, heavy varmint barrel put on it and floated the barrel. It was one of the m...

Re: Model 30 Info

This is my Model 30 Express, in 30 Rem. I've had it for 35 years. I don't know if the butt plates changed later but, mine is a 1924. Note how the bottom metal of the butt plate extends forward. As I remember, there were 2 basic version of the Model 30 but, I can't remember the details. I traded my 6...

Re: Model 14 problem

I still have the same problem. Are there any ideas out there of how to get the breech block unlocked?

Re: 7mm Mauser cartridge question

The 1902 and 1897 are chambered for the rimless 7mm.

Re: # 1 1/2 RB

tdyorder,
I believe yours are #2's. The #1 1/2 is approx 1 1/8 inches wide and use the same hammer and breech block as the #1 and #5.

Re: Model 14 problem

The loads were Sierra 75 gr spitzers, new production 30 Rem cases. Loaded single. I fired 3 shots before that one and it work fine. I don't know or care at the moment what caused the jam, I just want the live round OUT of the chamber, by dropping the breech block or getting it home to fire. If I don...

Re: Model 14 problem

Thank you, but, I guess that I wasn't being clear enough. The cartridge is jammed inside the chamber but, the bolt will not go into complete battery position, so that the firing pin will fall. And I can't find away to get the bolt to drop enough to open the breech. The bolt and receiver seem to be w...

Model 30

I have a Model 30 Express in 30 Remington caliber. I bought it in '87 and haven't shot it much. It has a factory installed Lyman 48 rear sight and was never drilled and tapped for a scope. With my jacketed reloads with spitzer bullets, it shoots about 8" high with the rear sight all the way dow...

Model 14 problem

I have a Model 14 in 25 Rem. My second time out with it, I got a jamed cartridge and still can't get the action open. It has a live round in it so, I have to be very careful. The problem seems to be that it's not quite all the way to battery and the firing pin won't release. I took the butt stock of...

# 1 1/2 RB

I tried to search the forum for info on the 1 1/2's but, I got no results. Could someone help me find threads on the 1 1/2? I've had mine for 20 years and know a little about them but, I'd like to know a lot more. I have Frank DeHaas's book, so i know that much. Any Idea how many were made and the l...
