Can high speed ammo be used in a later (1932) model 24 22lr? Also will a tang sight for the mod.12 work on the mod.24.
Thanks

14 1/2 38wcf rifle
I just picked up a 14 1/2 38-40 in v.g. to ext. condition and was wondering how many 14 1/2's were made, I have seen articles in the past that say 2000 or less and others with over 4000 made. Also anyone have any good cast bullet loads for theirs.
Thanks

#1 Sporter years
I'm looking at a #1 sporter RB and was wondering if there is any way to know if it was made before 1899. It is a 32-20.

Rolling block mainspring
I just picked up a 30-40 Krag Rolling Block built on a smokless 7mm action. The mainspring is weak and needs to be replaced, are these model specific or will any military spring fit?

Tom
Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure what the other letters and numbers meant.

Mod. 25 date code
Just picked up a model 25 (32-20) SN# 3028 I thought with the low SN it would be a 1st or 2nd year production gun, the date code KU makes it May 1927 is this right?

A rifle with honest use, and patina shouldn't be refinished EVER.

141 Feeding
I picked up a 141 in 35 cal. ext. shape with one problem, the action has to be worked hard for it to feed and eject reliably. Is this normal for the 141's. Unloading it can be a pain as it jams if it isn't pumped hard.
