RARE FIND Mayor of Tombstones ATs 1875 Remington

Post by dingus »

I Got this frame in the mail today.
Its a remington 1875 Frame. its engraved JOHN P CLUM on the back strap has tombstone AT on the barrels side.
has the date 1882.
My history search on John P Clum he was a Apache Ajent and being as i collect apache reservation police 1875 remingtons i made the conection.Mr Clum was the Mayor of Tombstone AT ands was good freinds with Wyatt earp and got earp his job as sherif.
Id sure like to know if theres any records on this.
Makes sence that Clum would engrave his remy 1875 so the reservation police didnt mistake his gun for one of there own.

Anyone read that the Mayor back then John P Clum used a 1875 army revolver ? Its 44 Caliber.
The engraveing has the same aged look to it that the rest of the gun has.

Please look at the Last picture of the barrel address its backwards from my other Remington 1875
