Hello from the UK.
I wonder if anyone could help me please, I have a Remington model 1858 revolver and there seems to be very little information here in the U.K.
The barrel is marked with a patent date of Sept 14, 1858, but it is not marked as a new model, it also has a dovetail for the front sight and a cylinder with safety notches.
Would it be possible to date the revolver? There is an "M" stamped on the trigger guard behind the screw, and a "U" stamped on the frame under the trigger guard. The serial number is 43622 which is stamped on the lower edge of the barrel and on the frame under the left grip there is also a "T" stamped under the grip. I can find no other markings.
Any information on this pistol and its markings would be much appreciated.
